North Korea's Kim Jong-Un appeared in public for the first time in three weeks to mark the anniversary of his father and late leader Kim Jong Il's birth.

He was seen along with other top officials paying tribute to the statue of the former leader at Pyongyang's Kumsusan Palace of the Sun.

This is Kim's first public appearance since he attended Lunar New Year celebrations on January 25.

Kim Jong Il’s birthday, which falls on February 16, is marked as a national holiday - named the Day of the Shining Star.

Meanwhile, North Korea has not confirmed any cases of coronavirus, with the state media confirming that the government had extended to 30 days the quarantine period for people showing symptoms.
