At least seven people have been killed and 46 injured following Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon's coastal city of Tyre, the Lebanese health ministry said on Saturday.

The ministry added that two children were among those who were killed in the strikes, which Lebanon's state news agency said took place late on Friday.

Rescue teams are still recovering bodies from the rubble, with search operations ongoing.
