Israel reports multiple waves of missiles from Iran

via X

Iran launched missiles towards Israel on Sunday for the first time since a ceasefire was agreed in April, raising concerns that the fragile truce could be unravelling.

Israeli air defence systems were activated and warning sirens sounded across parts of northern Israel after the launches were detected. Iranian state media reported that multiple waves of missiles had been fired.

The missile attack came hours after Israeli airstrikes targeted Hezbollah-linked sites in southern Beirut. Iran had previously warned that attacks on Lebanon could trigger retaliation, and Iranian officials have since vowed a strong response.

Israeli authorities said they were assessing the impact of the missile barrage. Initial reports indicated that interception systems were engaged, while emergency services and security forces were deployed to areas where debris or shrapnel may have fallen.
