Qatar's Ministry of Defence has announced that an oil tanker was struck by a cruise missile in its territorial waters on Wednesday, with no casualties reported.

In a post shared on the social media platform X, the ministry stated that the tanker was leased to Qatar Energy, with relevant authorities evacuating the site and ensuring the safety of the 21 crew members on board.

The authority added that the targeted missile had been a part of an attack that included two other cruise missiles launched from Iran, which were successfully intercepted by its defence forces.
