Drone attacks cause major fire at Kuwait International Airport

WAM

Two fuel depots at Kuwait International Airport came under a drone attack on Saturday night, causing a large fire at one of the facilities.

Firefighters and the Kuwaiti army battled the blaze, which resulted in material damage from shrapnel of the drones to some civilian buildings also, and is now under control.

The relevant authorities rushed to the scene and joined airport officials in addressing the impact of the attack.

Kuwait's Interior Ministry said on Sunday that two of its officers, Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Imad Al-Sharrah and Captain Fahd Abdulaziz Al-Majmoud, were killed "while performing duties," according to a post on X.
