The Bahrain High Criminal Court has sentenced nine individuals to life imprisonment and handed three-year prison terms to two others in two separate cases involving suspects linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The individuals were convicted of spying for the group to carry out terrorist and hostile acts against Bahrain and undermine its national interests.
Findings confirmed that the defendants had supplied the IRGC with data and information following interrogations of the involved suspects in the two cases.
The prosecution had also commissioned technical experts to examine the seized electronic devices, alongside hearing witness testimonies.
The suspects were referred to the high criminal court, where the verdicts were decided in accordance with the necessary legal procedures.
