The Arab Parliament and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have strongly condemned the attack targeting the premises of the UAE embassy and the residence of the Head of Mission in the Syrian capital Damascus.
Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament, has affirmed the parliament's rejection of all forms of violence and attacks against diplomatic missions.
He stressed that these acts constitute a clear violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which guarantees the protection of diplomatic premises and their personnel.
GCC Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi also emphasised the importance of Syrian authorities holding those responsible for these attacks and the disrespect shown toward UAE national symbols accountable. He further called for strengthened protection of diplomatic buildings and embassy personnel.
