Taylor Swift took two trophies home in a girl-powered start to the MTV Video Music Awards show on Monday.

Swift picked up two awards, including video of the year, for You Need to Calm Down, while rapper Cardi B beat out a male-dominated lineup to win best hip-hop video for Money.

"It means that you want a world where we are all treated equally under the law," Swift said while accepting the award.

Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande, both of whom were absent from Monday’s show, won Best New Artist and Artist of the Year, respectively.

The awards night also featured a slew of performances from Swift, Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Jonas Brothers, Cabello, Mendes and more.
