The UAE has welcomed the United States' decision to remove Sudan from the State Sponsors of Terrorism list.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation congratulated Sudan and its people on this step.

It said the move is poised to end years of political and economic isolation endured by the country.

The Ministry added that this will contribute to reinforcing Sudan's security, stability and prosperity in a way that will help to realise its people's development and welfare aspirations.
