Any move to reduce the minimum driving age in the UAE will have to be supported by specialised training and awareness campaigns targeting educational institutions. That’s according to road safety advocates, who’ve been commenting on the Federal Traffic Council’s suggestion to lower the driving age by one year to 17. The proposal has been under discussion since last year, but it’s yet to be approved by the higher authorities.
