Passengers set to fly out from Dubai Airports are being advised to check with their airlines for their flight status before heading out.

In a statement sent to ARN News, Dubai International (DXB) confirmed that operations continued to be hampered by the knock-on effects of waterlogging caused by heavy rainfall.

Passengers are also being advised to "allow additional time to get to the airport".

"We continue to work closely with our service partners to clear the backlog, restore full operations and minimise inconvenience to our customers," the statement read.

Emirates Airline also took to their official Twitter handle to urge passengers to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
