The UAE started issuing multiple-entry tourist visas for FIFA World Cup ticket holders on Tuesday.

In a statement issued online, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security announced that 'Hayya' cardholders will now be able to apply for the visa for a one-time fee of AED 100.

The visa will allow a stay of up to 90 days from the date of issuance, with a provision to extend it for another 90 days.

Citizens of visa-exempt countries are excluded from this process, and can enter and stay in the UAE according to the current procedures.

To apply for the visa, go online, choose "Smart Services", and then select "Visa/Multi Entry/Long-term tourism". Next, pick "Visa Hayya Card Holders", complete data and documents and pay the applicable fees.

The FIFA World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 20 to December 18.
