UAE President receives phone call from Israel's Prime Minister

WAM

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has discussed ways to strengthen ties with Israel in a call with Benjamin Netanyahu.

Emirates News Agency WAM reports that His Highness described the UAE's ties with Israel, forged in 2020 through the Abraham Accords, as a strategic choice for peace and development, saying the UAE sought increased collaboration across multiple sectors.

His Highness pointed to the countries' Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which came into effect on April 1, as well as the joint efforts on climate action, and working towards delivering a successful COP28 in the UAE later this year, as practical examples of what the growing relationship is achieving on a daily basis.

The UAE president also said his country will work with Israel, Arab nations and international partners "to avoid regional escalation" and advance a path to peace and stability.
