UAE announces public sector holiday for Hijri New Year

The Hijri New Year holiday for government entities, departments and institutions in the UAE will fall on Saturday, July 30.

In a tweet, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) said the holiday for the federal government will be on the 1st of Muharram 1444.

Earlier, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced the holiday for the private sector.

The announcement is based on the Cabinet's decision to unify official holidays for the public and private sector.
