Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi is teaming with NASA astronaut Warren 'Woody' Hoburg for the latest video call from the International Space Station, which will be hosted by the UAE Embassy in Washington, DC.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre and NASA are collaborating for a special 'Call from Space: US Edition,' which takes place on August 23.

The event is set to feature a live video call and Q&A with the astronauts, in what is the final instalment of the ‘Call from Space’ series.

Al Neyadi has been on board the International Space Station since March, in what has been the Arab world’s first long-duration space mission.

The ‘Call from Space’ series has been inspiring a new generation of space explorers and scientists, and has even had special guests including Al Neyadi's father, who surprised him with a call from Abu Dhabi.

In preparation for his mission to the ISS, Al Neyadi received training alongside NASA astronauts at facilities across the US including NASA’s Johnson Space Centre and SpaceX Headquarters.
