German tourists repatriated from Ras Al Khaimah Airport

WAM

Hundreds of German tourists have been repatriated from Ras Al Khaimah after being stranded in the UAE.

This comes after flights were suspended in the country amidst concerns over COVID-19.

More than 320 passengers, mostly German nationals, departed on two separate flights from Ras Al Khaimah International Airport in a joint effort by the UAE government and the German Embassy in the country.

Both flights took-off to Frankfurt Airport.

Ras Al Khaimah airport was chosen as the departure point due to its quick and efficient screening procedures at gates.

Also on-board the flights were passengers from Romania, Turkey, Poland, Kosovo and Croatia.
