Authorities in the UAE are stepping up their fight against counterfeit vehicle spare parts.

More than 50,000 fake Toyota parts have been seized between July and September, taking the total value of products confiscated this year to AED 26 million.

They were spotted during raids and inspections carried out across Dubai and Sharjah, in cooperation with Al-Futtaim Automotive.

The majority of items confiscated were serviceable goods such as oil filters and brake pads.
