Etihad lands in Cuba for first time with goodwill flight

Etihad's first flight to Cuba has touched down in Havana (WAM)

The first ever Etihad Airways flight to Cuba has landed in Havana.

Chartered by the UAE government, the aircraft carried Cuban nationals returning back home to the Caribbean island nation.

It’s the latest goodwill flight to be operated by Etihad, with Havana joining an extensive list of international cities that have received a humanitarian service flight from the airline since the UAE suspended all regular passenger flights on 24 March.

Eithad has operated special passenger and freight flights to nearly 100 destinations, 32 of which are not normally served by the airline’s global route network, with the number continuing to grow as preparations continue for the resumption of a more normalised schedule of flights in and out of Abu Dhabi.
