The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police are stepping up coordination to ensure the safety of people using cycling and e-scooter tracks.

Officials from the two entities have held discussions to review the safety measures and regulations.

They also discussed the Trucks Rest Stops project undertaken by the RTA with the private sector as well as other initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life in the city.

Around 425 km of cycling tracks have already been laid out in Dubai and that will extend to 647 km by 2025.

Meanwhile, the trial run for an e-scooters project will be rolled out in five different areas next week.
