Vietnam jails man for 14 years for attempting to overthrow state

A man in Vietnam has been sentenced to 14 years in jail for attempting to overthrow the state.

The court accused 47-year-old Phan Van Binh to work for a California-based group called the Provisional National Government of Vietnam that opposed the ruling Communist Party.

In a statement, the Ministry of Public Security said his facebook posts "undermined national unity, infringed upon national security, and went against the national interest".
