Venezuela imposes travel ban on self-declared president

The top court in Venezuela has imposed a travel ban and frozen bank accounts of self-declared interim president Juan Guaidó.

It also launched a criminal probe into his anti-government activities.

This comes after Guaidó received the backing of the US and other regional powers, including Brazil and Colombia, to overthrow President Nicolas Maduro.

While the court didn't specify what crimes Guaidó is being investigated for, it said the probe is tied to unrest sparked by his decision to declare himself interim president last week.
